1) Cygnus base band modems are designed to interconnect Data Terminal Equipments (DTE) at speeds of 2084 kbps over 4-wire (2 pair) unloaded copper circuits. It support "priority bumping" for ensuring continued connectivity for specified high priority traffic.
2) HDSL baseband modem operates on 4-wire and can drive distances of over 4.8 km on 24 AWG or 0.5 mm diameter copper conductors under error free conditions.
3) Can be ordered with one or more DTE ports. DTE port ordering time options include ITU-TE1, V.35/RS-530/X.21, 10baseT Ethernet Bridge, or specified combinations.
4) E1 interface complies with ITU-T recommendations G.703 and G.704 as applicable, with options for balanced (120 ohm) or unbalanced (75 ohm) interface. E1 frame types selectable from PCM 30 and PCM 31, with and without CRC-4.
5) It has flexible clocking options, loop back facilities for line fault isolation.
6) An array of front-panel indicators for displaying unit, line and port status.
7) Comprehensive built-in diagnostics for quick fault isolation. Diagnostic tests can be initiated via front panel switches.
8) Ordering time option for 230 VAC or -48 VDC input power supply. Standalone desktop box.
